Beef industry keen to see Korean FTA signed
Friday, 06/03/2009
Australia’s beef industry will be the big winner if free trade talks between the Government and South Korea are successful.
South Korea is Australia’s third largest beef market, with $750 million worth of beef sold there each year.
Australian beef producers want the Australian deal to be signed as soon as possible so they’re not disadvantaged by a looming US-South Korea free trade deal.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd says talks will start in May.
