Amid protests, EU-India trade talks begin today

New Delhi : Ahead of the three-day free trade negotiations between India and the European Union, or EU, starting on Tuesday, a campaign group led by trade unions and non-profit organizations have asked the government to halt the talks.
The dialogue will be led by P.K. Chaudhary, additional secretary in the ministry of commerce and industry, from the Indian side.

Talks for a bilateral agreement between India and EU were launched in Brussels in 2007.
