Argentina to give new impetus to EAEU-Mercosur trade talks - Macri

BUENOS AIRES (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 02nd December, 2018) Argentina will try to re-energize the stalling talks on trade between South America’s Mercosur and the Eurasian Economic Union of five former Soviet nations, President Mauricio Macri said Saturday.
"We are working to bring our regions together...
In the next six months when we chair Mercosur we will do our best to give a new impetus to these talks," Macri said at a briefing.
The Argentine president held talks with Russia’s Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit of most industrialized nations in Buenos Aires.
Argentina is one of the four countries making up the Mercosur trade bloc, alongside Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, while Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan form the EAEU economic organization.
