Honduras, Peru agree on work plan to conclude FTA negotiations

Lima, Nov. 04. Negotiation teams of Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) and its similar institution in Honduras will take part in a round of negotiations to draw up a work plan that will enable both countries to end the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) talks.

The aforementioned meeting will take place in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, from November 10-14, according to a ministerial decree published on Monday.

As is well known, the President of Peru, Ollanta Humala, and his Honduran counterpart, Juan Orlando Hernandez, agreed to conclude FTA negotiations during the 69th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) held on September 23, 2014.

To this end, the National Director for Integration and International Trade Negotiations at Mincetur, Jose Brandes, will head to the Central American nation to coordinate the said activities and represent the Peruvian side.

Brandes will lead the Deputy Foreign Trade Ministry’s delegation comprising, among others, Hortencia Rodriguez, Angela Guerra, Jennifer Olortegui, Monica Guerrero, Gerardo Meza, and Celia Huaman.
