Ongoing negotiations for EU-S’pore FTA progressing well

SINGAPORE: Negotiation for an EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA) is progressing well.
The Free Trade Agreement was one of the issues discussed when President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso met Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana on Saturday evening.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the two leaders agreed that the successful completion of the agreement would be a stepping stone for closer EU-ASEAN engagement.
They also exchanged views on recent developments in East Asia and the economic situation in Europe.
