Pakistan, Thailand to establish stronger trade links

LAHORE, March 30 (APP) : Pakistan and Thailand will establish a joint bank and trade centre to promote bilateral trade and investment, said Punjab Trade & Investment minister here Friday.

Talking to a delegation of Thai business who called on him today, the minister Sohail Zafar Cheema said that Pakistan is the 2nd biggest trading partner of Thailand in South Asia, and trade ties will be further strengthened through establishment of a trade centre and joint bank which facilitate and protect investors interests, according to official sources.

“Under the free trade agreement between the two countries the volume of mutual trade will rise to about $ 1 billion,” said the minister.

He said that the government has decided to launch a ‘one window system’ to facilitate foreign investors, by which all the file work related to different departments like electricity, telephones, exise and taxation etc will be completed under one roof.
