The bilaterals.org team is pleased to announce the launch of an upgraded version of the website.

Bilaterals.org has always been committed to supporting movements engaged in struggles against free trade and investment agreements. In order to keep the site relevant and useful, we gathered feedback to assess users’ needs and expectations. This consultation process confirmed that bilaterals.org is considered a unique tool that is helpful to a wide range of activists.
While the website’s overall structure has not changed, we have introduced significant new features, including:
• New design;
• Simplified navigation system;
• Enhanced search engine, including an advanced “search by keywords” system (e.g. countries, topics);
• New sections: African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), EU-Australia-New Zealand (ANZ) and United Kingdom;
• An introductory text about bilateral investment treaties and free trade agreements for newcomers, highlighting what is wrong with them.
The launch comes as bilaterals.org celebrates its 15th anniversary. After its first decade of growth and consolidation, bringing together information and critical analysis about both the push for these agreements and people’s resistance against them, bilaterals.org has taken on a more structural role with various struggles, such as TTIP (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership), RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) and ISDS (Investor State Dispute Settlement). The team has responded to many ad-hoc requests from groups globally, from creating new pages to publishing leaks of draft negotiating texts or other undisclosed documents.
While the website’s three languages have been English, French and Spanish, we have also seen an increase of articles in other languages, such as Indonesian Bahasa, Japanese and Portuguese, and expect more material in these languages and others (Hindi, for instance) in the future. Please feel free to post or send us any materials in other languages that would be useful to your struggles.
Bilaterals.org remains an open-publishing and collaborative platform. We encourage you to use it to post any relevant material, like articles, translations, videos, announcements and leaked documents, or contact our team for assistance. For more information on how to post your own materials, please visit this page. Alternatively, you can continue to send us any materials you would like to be posted.
