15 December 2010

ACCRA (A.A) - Turkey is willing to use Ghana as an operations center for its business deals in the African continent, Turkish State Minister for foreign trade Zafer Caglayan said on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters in Accra, Ghana, the second stop of his African tour, Caglayan said Turkey also eyed to sign an economic partnership agreement with Ghana in the shortest possible time.

Caglayan said Ghana might offer major business opportunities for Turkish construction firms as the country needed a total of 1 million new houses with 140 thousand new houses each year.

Caglayan said he had proposed barter of Turkish goods and services for oil produced in African countries, which he said would boost business volume and speed up their economic growth.
