FTA with India, Turkey, Israel, Russia to expand Peru’s non-traditional exports

6 August 2013

Lima, Aug. 05 (ANDINA). Peru’s Foreign Trade Association (ComexPeru) said Monday that Peru should continue promoting free trade agreements with India, Turkey, Israel, Russia and Arab countries as they boost non-traditional exports.
ComexPeru advised Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) to increase trade negotiations and continue entering potential markets like India, which is interested in signing free trade agreement with Peru.

It also noted that India has a market of over 1.2 billion people and is full of opportunities. "Entrepreneurs, exporters and Peruvian workers can not lose this opportunity," it said.

In addition, ComexPeru said that it is important that the country improves concession processes for ports, airports and railroads in order to help small businesses reach large markets.
