PM calls for FTA with Bangladesh

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz emphasizing that Pakistan and Bangladesh have a common heritage and enjoy a special and unique relationship said that we need to work towards free trade agreement.

He was talking to Hemayetuddin, foreign secretary of Bangladesh who called on him at the prime minister’s house on Saturday

The prime minister said that the private sector in both the countries has natural affinity and we need to work free trade agreement.

Co-operation between the two countries can be further expanded by people to people contact, cultural exhanges and increased trade and economic activity.

Talking about SAARC, the prime minister said it provides a platform to be member countries to increase co-operation.

He said that we are looking forward to the SAARC summit in Dhaka will carry forward from the good work done at the Islamabad summit and assured that we will support every effort of Bangladesh to made it a success.

The prime minister recollecting his last visit to Bangladesh said that we touched by the hospitality extended to him and asked the foreign sectary to convey his greetings and best wishes to the president and prime minister of Bangladesh.

The foreign sectary of Bangladesh apprised the prime minister to talk held with his counterpart in Pakistan and conveyed the greetings of the president and the prime minister of Bangladesh.
