Say NO to the new legislations on trade secrets

What is hiding behind the new laws on TRADE SECRETS?
A new SUPERPOWER for corporations so they can escape retaliation if they commit irreparable damage to the people.

A new SUPERPOWER for corporations that places them above our right to know the truth about crimes against public health and the commons.

A new SUPERPOWER for corporations that puts an end to the right to information and to free press.

But... what are these new laws to be passed in the different states, in Europe, in the TTIP... about?

TRADE SECRETS are meant to protect companies’ investments, but now they want to extend this protection above the reach of justice, democracy and the respect for human life.

If a pharmaceutical company has a product that poisons thousands of people causing life-long damages. When going to court, the company may waive TRADE SECRETS in order to not reveal information or the composition of its products, or invalidate evidence provided by others.
Not only will there be no evidence for legal prosecution, but those who may reveal evidence would be punished.

If a bank commits fraud on millions of savers with toxic products, when going to court may waive TRADE SECRETS in order to not reveal the content of their products.
Not only will there be no evidence for legal prosecution, but the whistleblowers who disclose information to the public opinion would be punished.

If a car manufacturer manipulates emissions tests to conceal the real pollution produced by their engines, it can hide evidence appealing to TRADE SECRETS.
Again, those who investigate their bad practices will face legal retaliation (NGOs).

On top of all this, they want to include the new legislation on TRADE SECRETS in the TTIP agreement. Thus it would become irrevocable if the TTIP is approved. Why are they doing this now?

Because citizens, whistleblowers, individuals and groups are exposing one by one all their abuses and corruption.

They are scared and want to maintain their impunity using TRADE SECRETS as an excuse. We are still in time to unmask this operation.

SAY NO TO THE NEW LEGISLATION ON TRADE SECRETS
