EPA plan to be reset

BARBADOS IS resetting its implementation strategy of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with the European Union as Britain prepares to exit the EU. Officials engaged in the process participated in a public/private sector partnership forum to start the dialogue that will chart the course for future engagements.

But even while this was being done, Minister of Industry, International Business and Small Business Development Donville Inniss said CARICOM and the Dominican Republic, which comprise CARIFORUM, must grab hold of any opportunity despite the atmosphere of uncertainty in the EU.

“We must stop sitting down here in the sunny islands of the Caribbean complaining and expecting manna to drop from heaven. It’s not going to happen,” he admonished at the start of the forum at the Radisson Aquatica, St Michael.
