Chile, Panama Sign Free Trade Agreement

Santiago, Chile, Jun 27 (Prensa Latina) Chile and Panama signed a tree trade agreement that severs 98 percent trade tariffs, 15 years in Panama and 10 years in Chile.

The signing ceremony at the Foreign Ministry involved Chilean Foreign Minister Alejandro Foxley and Panama’s Minister for Commerce and Industry Alejandro Ferrer.

The agreement covers, among other, access to markets, trade and investments, transborder services, bilateral cooperation, environment and conflict settlement.

Foxley termed the accord with Panama the confirmation of Chile’s political will to enhance ties with Latin America.
