European MPs Note Importance to Ink Partnership Agreement with Syria

DAMASCUS, (SANA) - European MPs noted on Sunday the importance of building different relations with Syria, reaching to ink the partnership agreement with her, in light of development in the Syrian economy, economic sources said.

Members of the socialist group to the EU parliament visiting Syria made a review with Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affaires Abduallah al-Dardari on the Syrian-EU relations, the situation in the region and significance of building just and comprehensive peace according to the international legitimacy, the sources added.

Dardri made a comprehensive economic display for the program of the economic reform in Syria and steps taken to establish the social market economy.

He emphasized importance of developing and boosting relations between Syria and the EU to include various aspects of economy, industry, tourism, development and exchanging of technical and administrative expertise.

Meeting Speaker of the People’s Assembly, European MPs emphasized "the significance of accomplishing the Syrian-European partnership due to its important role in achieving a human and economic development contributing to the peace process, security and stability in the region."

The delegation said that " Europe has become more convicted with the need of moving the peace process in the region and that Syria is an important side in it " asserting the need of Israel’s withdrawal to June 4th border line and give the Palestinians their rights as to realize peace for all.

Speaker Mahmoud al-Abrash pointed the importance of European MPs instigating an effective European stand to develop relations between Europe and the region in a way that serves their common interests.
