S&T agreements are renewed in five year increments with the exception of Armenia & Russia, which are renewed every ten years.

1. Argentina
Agreement for Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Argentine Republic.
(Signed 4/7/72; last renewal was 2/17/98; can remain in force for successive five year periods by written agreement of both parties)

2. Armenia
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Armenia on Science and Technology Cooperation.
(Signed 2/28/97; will remain in force for ten years; may be renewed for further ten year periods by written agreement of both parties)

3. Bulgaria
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria for Scientific and Technological Co-Operation.
(Signed 9/27/96; may be renewed for further five year periods by written agreement of both parties)

4. Belarus
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on Science and Technology Cooperation.
(Signed 1/14/94; current Agreement does not allow for renewals)

5. Brazil
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Federative Republic of Brazil Relating to Cooperation in Science and Technology.
(Signed 2/6/84; last renewed 3/21/94; can be renewed for consecutive five year periods by written agreements of both parties)

6. Chile
Basic Agreement relating to Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Chile.
(Signed 5/15/86; last renewed 3/22/94; can be renewed every five years by written agreement of both parties)

7. China
Protocol between the Department of Commerce of the United States of America and the State Science and Technology Commission of the People’s Republic of China on Cooperation in the Field of Scientific and Technical Information.
(Signed 4/30/84; last renewed 10/24/96; self renewal [automatically renewed without written exchange by the parties] every five years)

8. Croatia
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Croatia for Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
(Signed 3/18/94; can be renewed for five years by written agreement of both parties)

9. Czech Republic
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Federal Republic for Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
(New Agreement signed June 1998, can be renewed for five years by written agreement of both parties)

10. Egypt
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on Science and Technology Cooperation
(Signed 3/20/95; can be renewed every five years by written agreements of both parties)

Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Estonia on Science and Technology Cooperation.

Agreement for Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Government of the United States of America and the European Community.
(Signed 12/5/97 and ratified by the EU and brought into force in October 1998)

13. Finland
Agreement Relating to Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Finland
(Signed 3/22/85; last renewed 5/16/95; self renewal every five years)

14. Hungary
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Hungarian People’s Republic for Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
(Signed 10/4/89; self renewal every five years; last renewed 1994; can be renewed for five years by written agreement of both parties)

15. Italy
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Italian Republic on Scientific and Technological Cooperation
(Signed 4/11/98; last renewed 10/4/93; self renewal every five years)

16. Japan
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Japan on Cooperation in Research and Development in Science and Technology.

Agreement Relating to Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Korea.
(Signed 1/6/92; renewed 7/29/98 for six months)

19. Latvia
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Latvia on Science and Technology Cooperation.
(Signed 7/6/94; can be renewed for five year periods by written agreement of both parties)

20. Lithuania
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Lithuania on Science and Technology Cooperation.
(Signed 7/6/94; can be renewed for five years periods by written agreement of both parties)

21. Macedonia
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Macedonia on Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
(Signed 10/10/95; can be renewed for five year periods by written agreement of both parties)

22. Mexico
Agreement between the United States of America and Mexico on Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
(Signed 6/15/72; ongoing agreement can be canceled upon written notice by either party; annex signed 8/15/94)

23. New Zealand
Agreement for Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of New Zealand.
(Signed 5/21/96; last renewal 5/21/96; self renewal at five year intervals)

24. Poland
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Poland on Cooperation in Science and Technology.
(Initially signed 1987; replacement agreement signed 1992; last renewed 9/4/97)

25. Romania
Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Romania on Cooperation in Science and Technology.

26. Russia
