Danish MPs should listen to native Western Saharawi not to algeria diplomats&DK NGOs funded by algeria like Afrika Kontakt. NGOs sponsored by algeria will look for the status quo to keep the algerian sponsorship: human absurdity!
Thanks

HELP...This could be the wake up call needed to publicize the issues on how these new generation trade (NOT) deals will inflict corporate control on the everyday happenings of everyday people. We need to safeguard the MUSH group.

( EEUU-ROU)

All is well thought, but money makes the world go round - money of a minority. And they make the rules.

Does this NAFTA judicial panel allow reporters in to these hearings? How could someone like me (from far away from Toronto) get info on the final ruling? Is there a contact person please?

@Garrett Workman, we also filed a freedom of information request at the USTR. This is where we obtained the information mentioned in the article. Before release these documents were redacted by the FOIA team to prevent making any information public where (quote) "disclosure would constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy."

I’m not sure how an EU Freedom of Information Act request gave you access to my private communications with USTR, but I feel this is a violation of my "fundamental right" to data privacy.

I think this is a very important milestone in EU position vis a vis settlement products, but we have to have a very realistic reading of the EU decision and manage our expectations from the Commission. The decision is neither calling for a boycott nor sanctions, and does not seem to go into that direction. Rather, it is a sort of an awareness tool for the European consumer and leaves the implementation of any measures to the discretion of the country level decision maker. It has no legally binding mechanism!
It will take a strong effort to make the shift in position at the decision making level in the commission from one side, and also work on better standards for Palestinian export oriented products from the other. The EU market is highly competitive and there is a need to revise the current list of Palestinian products to enter into EU within the current trade arrangments. We also need to see how we can compete with the listed "Israeli settlement labeled products provided by the EU decision". For example, are they the same as the Palestinian list or not), this is in addition to making a comparative assessment of competiteveness of Palestinian products with imports from other European and non-European countries that have trade agreements with the EU.

The NAFTA trade deal has been a disaster for the so called middle class and indeed most workers In the USA as well as Canada.
The TPP will only cap that off It is a myth that trade deals "create " jobs totally untrue Trade deals actually destroy good family supporting jobs AND of course the taxes those people pay.. Rather strange "destroy tax paying jobs then giving to corporations who are good at avoiding taxes "
There is little value in Trade deals for the vast majority of people which is of course MOST of us. The TPP will only add to that disaster

Honestly, I expect a higher standard of reporting from the Guardian.
Let me say at the outset I am no fan of ISDS, but to claim that "ISDS provisions allow foreign corporations to sue the Australian government in an international tribunal if they think the government has introduced or changed laws that significantly hurt their interests" is at the very least, outrageous hyperbole.
ISDS provisions only allow corporations to bring actions if a Government acts in a manner inconsistent with its treaty obligations that is contrary to the interests of the corporation - so you left out the critically important bit.
The problem with nonsense reporting like this is that it actually undermines the credibility of legitimate and well informed anti-ISDS advocacy, as we all get tarred with the same hyperbolic, scare-mongering brush.
Next time, do your homework please.
