I think a Korea-EU FTA is a great idea. Not only for the trade with eachother, but also for the international
development of relations between North East Asia and Europe. With the US-Korea FTA, Korea would be
get too much dependent on the US. US will use S.Korea more than for a good export market but also to get
more control in the North East Asia Region (why such a rush with the US-Korea FTA?).

i had just gotten through reading the article on this site and found it very interesting, espcially as tonga was standing on the threshold of singing in with the wto until pressure groups pressured government to reassess thier decision and allow more research to carried out on the pros and cons of tonga joining.

i also agree that vanuatu’s firm stance needs to be highlighted for other developing countries to take notice of.

i’m currently tutoring a course in pacific politics and we’re currently venturing into neocolonialism, etc. wto is one of the institutions we’re looking into and so we be very interested in finding out more about the prospects and intentions of this institution in the pacific.

Can Mr. Juliano please explain how the QIZ model can be applied in the case of the Philippines when QIZs seem to have been conceptualized specifically as a peace process instrument in the Middle East? How can the garment industry help flesh out the concept?

I am highly skeptical of the Australian information and have seen no such studies or similar reports within Australia.

So what’s the source of the Australia info? Latest news from Australia says the generic market is growing 20% per year.

I spent nearly seven years in Muscat, Oman, as a UNIDO consultant and traveled extensively throughout the country: never did I witness or hear about slave or forced labor making merchandise for export. On the contrary, I heard many times the opinion that people from the Indian subcontinent who worked in the garment industry in Oman increased their productivity many times over that they achieved in their homes countries because they were paid, housed and fed much better in Oman. Whoever makes the kind of comments the US Democrats have made should better visit Oman and then give an opinion....or shut up.

I feel that Thailand should be able to secure more benefical FTA’s and negotiators should put a greater empahsis on gaining these. However i believe the problem to lie with surrounding countries such as China, Australia, New Zealand and India who aim to gain from the dilema facing Thailand through making as such much profit as they can through trade. These countries should not be exploiting Thailand, this is a problem occuring all over the world in South America and Africa and richer nations should be providing support.

EN ESTE CASO LA COMUNIDAD ANDINA POR DIVERSOS MOTIVOS SE HALLABA EN CRISIS PUES ESTRIBA UNA NECESIDAD REAL PROMOVER UNA VERDADERA INTEGRACION DADO QUE DE ESTA FORMA SE CONDUCE EL MUNDO HACIA LAS NEGOCIACIONES DE BLOQUES DONDE LAS NEGOCICACIONES SE EFECTUAN SIENDO MAYORES LAS PROBABILIDADES DE LOGRAR BENEFICIOS MAYORES CUANDO SE SE EJECUTA UNA NEGOCIACION GLOBAL.

ADEMAS EN ESTE CASO LA SALIDA DE VENEZUELA ES MAS QUE TODO GENERADA POR UNA CUESTION DE CELOS PUES EL HECHO DE QUE 3 PAISES DE MANERA SOBERANA HAYAN DECIDIDO NEGOCIAR UN TRATADO DE CARACTER COMERCIAL CON EL GRAN VECINO DEL NORTE ES BAJO TODO PUNTO DE VISTA PERMISIBLE CONSIDERANDO LOS PROPIOS INTERESES DE CADA PAIS POR AMPLIAR SUS HORIZONTES COMERCIALES Y LOS BENEFICIOS POR LOS NEGOCIOS QUE SE PUEDAN DAR .

PERO EL HECHO DE QUE UN PAIS MEDIANTE SU PRESIDENTE EXHIBA COMO UN ARGUMENTO PARA ABANDONAR UNA ORGANIZACION DE CARACTER REGIONAL QUE SE HAYA DADO UN TRATADO TLC ENTRE 3 PAISES MIEMBROS DE LA ORGANIZACION ES UNA CAUSAL DE ROMPIMIENTO ESTA CLARAMENTE EQUIVOCADO PUES EXISTE UNA DECISION 598 DE LA COMUNIDAD ANDINA QUE AUTORIZA ESTA NEGOCIACION BAJO EL CARGO NO SOLO DE RENDIR CUENTAS POR LAS NEGOCIACUINES REALIZADAS ADEMAS DE GENERAR MECANISMOS ALTERNATIVOS

Hi - I write in my personal capacity.
I truly hate the sight of China City etc. The products are not just mass produced the wholesalers are rude, filthy, and completely indifferent. they do not do a thing to enhance the south africans. They appear arrogant and indignant. I simply hate having to buy any of their products. I would rather buy and inferior south african product than buy the junk they flood our market with.
