Statement of Thai Youth Against FTA
We represent the youth of Thailand and people in the land of Thailand, who breathe the same the air with all free people on earth.
Since our rights to live are deprived by free trade that states and capitalists have created without taking into consideration the existence of its citizens and grassroots peoples. The oppression and exploitation from free trade, therefore affects unconditionally our diverse community, culture and society.
Nowadays, many people have been killed by the trade war that is constantly occurring. If the war is to continue, there will be a lot more who will be killed.
Thus, before this happens, we, on behalf of Thai Youth Against Free Trade, would like to clearly announce that:
“We demand the rights of the people, who are oppressed by the global trade war and join them in a fight for a more just society that consists of an economic system made up of fair trade, diverse socio-cultures, food sovereignty, human rights and a sustainable environment”
Although this might sound idealistic, but we cannot let free trade dominate our lives. From now on, our people should live happily together in peace and justice, not in exploiting one another.
