Europe BITs

Many, if not most, European governments have bilateral investment treaties (BITs) with other countries. A number of them have online databases where the public can access individual treaties or learn more about the objectives and status of their BIT negotiation programmes.

Draft convention on investments abroad (Abs-Shawcross draft convention)
One of the most significant early proposals for a multilateral agreement to protect private foreign investment was launched in 1957 by groups of European business people, and lawyers.
