Bilateral treaty with Bosnia and Herzegovina okeyed
NEW DELHI : The government on Saturday gave its approval to the proposed Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Briefing reporters about the Union Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi said the agreement would increase the investment between Indian and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Minister said India had signed 58 BIPA so far and agreement with three other countries had also been finalised.
The Cabinet also approved the proposed agreement between Indian and Botswana for Avoidance of Double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income, he said.
Once in force, the agreement will stimulate the flow of investment, technology and personnel from India to Botswana and vice-versa, besides providing tax stability and facilitate multual economic cooperation.
