Egypt and Turkey to sign free trade agreement

Cairo, Dec. 20, (BNA) Egyptian Minister of Foreign Trade and Industry, Rasheed Mohammed Rasheed, said, a free trade agreement will be signed by Egypt and Turkey during next week’s visit of Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer to Cairo.
During a meeting with the Turkish ambassador to Cairo today, Rasheed said the Egyptian-Turkish ties were witnessing unprecedented developments. Among those developments, he stated, FTA negotiations held between the two countries on September 12-13 and the symposiums held by Istanbul Trade Office to explore investment opportunities in Egypt. In addition, he pointed out to the intensive exchange of visits between businessmen in both countries in the light of the Turkish interest to invest in the Egyptian textile sector .
