Georgian FM, Israeli Economy Minister review cooperation, economic ties
Bilateral and multilateral cooperation involving Georgia and Israel, and economic ties between the countries were discussed on Tuesday in a meeting between the Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and the Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat.
Within the framework of the former’s visit to Israel, the officials signed a joint declaration on the completion of the feasibility study on the free trade agreement between the two countries.
The meeting reviewed the agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation and the “great” potential of cooperation in economy, bilateral trade, investments and tourism, the Georgian foreign service said.
Within the framework of the two-day visit, Darchiashvili will also meet with his Israeli counterpart Eli Cohen and the Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
The top Georgian diplomat will also lay a wreath at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial on behalf of the Georgian people.
