Coskun: If F.T.A. Is Signed Between Turkey And Egypt, We Expect A Burst In Bilateral Relations
CAIRO - Turkish Industry & Trade Minister Ali Coskun said, ’’if a free trade agreement (FTA) is signed between Turkey and Egypt, we expect a burst in bilateral relations.’’
Coskun, who arrived in Cairo as the guest of Egyptian Industry & Foreign Trade Minister Rasheed Mohammad, was received by Egyptian Premier Ahmed Mohamed Nazif on Monday.
Coskun and Nazif took up commercial relations between the two countries during their meeting.
Coskun then met Egyptian Electricity & Energy Minister Hassan Ahmed Younis as well as Housing Minister Mohamed Ibrahim.
Speaking to reporters after his meetings, Coskun said, ’’we are on the last step to sign FTA between the two countries. Through the agreement, important progress will be recorded in bilateral relations as well as accession of Turkish investors in African market.’’
’’Egypt is trade door of Africa in the north. Turkey has an important strategical location which opens to Europe and Africa. If FTA is signed between Turkey and Egypt, we expect a burst in bilateral relations. Also our activities continue regarding transfer of Egyptian natural gas to Turkey,’’ he said.
