Kuwait, Singapore agree FTA to include 4 main areas
SINGAPORE: Kuwait and Singapore have agreed that the free trade agreement between them will include four main areas of trade in goods, trade in services, investment and government procurement.
They also agreed that officials from both countries will meet in Singapore in December to launch the first round of negotiations for this free trade agreement.
This was the result of discussion following Minister of State for Trade and Industry Heng Chee How’s three-day visit to Kuwait this week.
During the 4-6 October visit, Mr Heng called on the Prime Minister of Kuwait and met various government and business leaders to discuss ways to enhance economic co-operation between Singapore and Kuwait.
Both sides agreed that apart from Government-to-Government initiatives, the business communities from Kuwait and Singapore should also increase their level of engagements with each other.
