Pakistan, Malaysia agree to finalize Free Trade Agreement

ISLAMABAD, Jun 10 (APP): Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and the Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr. Abdullah Badawi Sunday agreed upon the need for early finalization of FTA (Free Trade Agreement) between the two countries.The mutual consent was expressed during a telephonic conversation between the two Prime Ministers this afternoon.The FTA, both leaders felt, would greatly facilitate the trade links and help share the economic progress achieved by the two countries.

While recalling the historic relations based on common faith and culture both leaders stressed upon need to further enhance cooperation in the diplomatic and cultural fields as well.

The two prime ministers also exchanged views on the situation in the region as well as efforts required by the Ummah to promote inter-faith harmony. It was felt that the world needs to work harder to create interfaith, inter civilization and inter cultural harmony among people belonging to different faiths to make the world a secure place to live.
