ANKARA - Turkish Daily News

State Minister Kürşad Tüzmen, on the third day of a visit to Jordan, said that Turkey had presented the draft text of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Turkey and Jordan to Jordanian Prime Minister Faysal Fayez, reported the Anatolia news agency.

Tüzmen noted that the Jordanians would examine this draft text prepared by Turkey but that the two sides have already agreed that an FTA would be practical for both parties. Tüzmen said the second issue discussed involved transportation costs, namely high fees incurred by Turkish trucks that wish to pass through Jordan. Turkey has asked the Jordanian prime minister for help on this issue.

Tüzmen said Jordan has decided to gather the half-dozen different types of fees charged to Turkish trucks under a single standard fee.
