Job opening: bilaterals.org and ISDS platform shared coordinator

Job opening: bilaterals.org and ISDS platform shared coordinator

Starting date: as soon as possible

bilaterals.org and a new ISDS (investor-state dispute settlement) platform to be hosted at bilaterals.org seek to hire a coordinator for their work. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in working on a full-time, paid basis to support people’s struggles against so-called free trade and investment deals globally, through a job share for two separate but complementary projects.

bilaterals.org is an open publishing website that tracks and aggregates news and analysis about bilateral free trade and investment treaty negotiations, and peoples’ struggles against them. It serves as a permanent trilingual clearinghouse on these issues. It is a tool for campaigners, activists and researchers. It was set up in 2004 as a collaborative project and is run by a small international team. [1] The site is updated daily and accompanied by a weekly newsletter, a Twitter feed and a Facebook page.

The ISDS platform is being set up now by an independent collective and will be hosted at bilaterals.org. [2] The platform aims to serve as a repository of campaign materials, news, analysis and documents to support campaigning to stop the spread, and roll back the investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) regime. The goal of this platform is to pull together information about the ISDS regime that is relevant to movements working on other issues, and to share information and analysis across regions.
