Korea Seeks Speedy Free Trade Pact with EU

Korea’s deputy trade minister Kim Han-soo has expressed Seoul’s intent to exercise speed and flexibility in free trade discussions with the European Union.

Speaking at a conference organized by the Korea Importers Association in Seoul on Tuesday morning, Korea’s top negotiator to trade talks with the EU added that with the exception of the auto sector progress has been seen in discussions on most other trade areas.

Kim also expressed hopes for a deal to be concluded by the year’s end. Korea and the EU are scheduled to hold their fifth round of free-trade talks in Brussels starting next Monday.
