Panama and CR to Renew FTA Talks

Panama, Aug 14 (Prensa Latina) A team of Panamanian experts went to Costa Rica Monday, where the 4th Round of Negotiation between both nations looking for the signing of a Bilateral Protocol of the Free Trade Treaty will take place.

An official communiqué said new discussions will be from August 14 to 18 in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The meeting is part of the commitment by the Ministers of Trade of Panama and Central America on March 27, to restart the negotiations for a FTA between Panama and Central America.

The topics will be: Access to Markets, Rules for Trade with Costa Rica, Services, Investment, Financial Services and Governmental Purchase.

According to Panamanian Minister of Trade and Industry Alejandro Ferrer, an agreement of this kind with Costa Rica will allow increase and strengthening of commercial relations between both countries.
