Russell Brand rails against Monsanto & the TTIP

Cecil Iscool

On today’s episode of comedian turned activist Russell Brand’s the Trews, the Brit spoke with the lovely Helena Norberg-Hodge.

Helena Norberg-Hodge is the founder and director of the International Society for Ecology and Culture and also one of the leading analyst and voices regarding the impact of the global economy on cultures around the world.

The topic at hand was the importance of growing food organically and shopping local.

Aptly titled, “How We’re Lied To About Food,” the episode exhibits Helena & Russell explaining how companies like Monsanto and McDonald’s will profit from the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership or TTIP for short.

Not only do the pair point out the UN recently admitted that the world’s agricultural needs can be met with localized and organic farming, they explain that we are told the opposite because corporations like Monsanto control the informational narrative due to their alignments with corporate media.
