Thailand seeks more trade ties with India

12 September 2009

KOLKATA: Thailand on Saturday said it wants to enhance trade ties with India after the operationalisation of the Free Trade Agreement.

Mr Krit Kraichitti, Ambassador of Thailand to India, said that India’s Look East Policy and Thailand’s Look West Policy would help in improving economic relations between the two nations.

The envoy said besides trade and investment, tourism and education were other two areas where Thailand was looking at, and added that tourism would flourish as both the countries had similar cultural ties rooted in Hinduism and Buddhism. The volume of In do-Thailand trade was around $4 billion. - PTI
