Second round of negotiations on CEPA starts in Islamabad today

ISLAMABAD: The second round of negotiations between Srilanka and Pakistan on Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) starts in Islamabad today (Tuesday).
The negotiations aims to incorporate chapters on investment and trade in services and customs cooperation into the bilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries. The chief negotiator from Pakistan side is Mr. Shahid Bashir, senior Joint secretary, Ministry of Commerce. Ms. Shamila Mahmood and Mr. Muhammad Nadeem Riaz, from Board of Investment, assist him. Ms. Manel de Silva, Director General of Trade head the Srilankan delegation. Ms. Menik Chandrasiri and Mr. Nonis, department of trade include the srilankan delegation. The negotiations will continue for three days.
