US, Rwanda in investment treaty negotiations

The Office of the US Trade Representative and the US Department of State has announced that the United States and Rwanda have begun formal negotiations toward a Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) that would strengthen investor protections and encourage the continuation of market-oriented economic reforms in Rwanda.

Comesa signs free trade pact with EU

The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (Comesa) has signed an agreement that gives member States uninterrupted European Union market access. The new pact, which covers 25 years will become effective in January next year and is aimed at addressing trade disparities between Europe and Comesa countries.
