Business delegation heads to US to sell FTA
28 June 2007
A delegation of business leaders has set off for the United States to promote a Taiwan-US Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
The director-general of the Bureau of Foreign Trade Huang Chih-peng is leading the delegation, which left for the US on Monday.
The delegation will meet with US officials and businessmen to try to gain support for signing a Taiwan-US FTA.
The Director of the de facto US embassy, the American Institute in Taiwan, Stephen Young, said last week that the FTA was unlikely.
