ECOWAS leaders approve Economic Partnership agreement with EU

The Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government have approved the Economic Partnership Agreement with the EU.
They have therefore instructed the West African Chief Negotiator to take all the necessary steps to quickly start the process of signing and implementing the Agreement.
This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the 45th Ordinary Session of the Authority in Accra.
The leaders encouraged the Chief Negotiator to sustain the efforts particularly by informing and raising awareness of the national and regional actors.
