Honduras and China held first FTA negotiations meeting

Tegucigalpa, Jul 7 (Prensa Latina) - The first meeting of negotiations for the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Honduras and China was held here today so as to advance bilateral cooperation, the Foreign Ministry reported.

The entity said in a press statement that, within the context of this first round of FTA talks, the terms of reference of the negotiations, the work methodology and a schedule of meetings were agreed upon so that the treaty will be ready in a year.

Aspects related to cooperation, micro and small entrepreneurs and the agricultural sector, among others, were included in these terms, which initiate a negotiation process that is based on the development priorities and expectations of the two countries.

The Honduran Government, expressed its vision framed in the Bicentennial Plan of President Xiomara Castro to build economic, trade and cooperation relations, both harmonious and mutually beneficial, according to the official note.
